Thank you Joleen and Pat for each donating $100 to keep the website alive.  So the question now is, do we spend nearly all of it to have the website without ads? Or do we go back to ads and reduce our yearly fee significantly?

Domain Name:  $20 yearly

Website:  w/ads    free

                w/o ads   $165 yearly

I vote for no ads but since the difference is so much ... do what is easiest to keep the site going. I think we can certainly live with ads ... they have infiltrated our lives everywhere else. Thanks Chris.

I'm saddened to hear of the loss of your father.  He and your mother meant so much to me as a child.  They were like a second set of parents.  They were loved and will be missed!

Hey Everyone......we are good for another year on the website and a couple of years on the domain. I've also added a couple of security measures.  They should be free but alas everything costs more these days.   Thanks to Joleen, Pat & Lexie for donating this last year.

Let's shoot for 2026 at our 55 reunion.    Chris

Hey Everyone,    I just got this note from John Groshell  :-)

Good morning to the Kids who gave me 2 wonderful years. I wrote an autobiography that is currently selling on the Amazon and Barnes and Noble web sites. It also is available in e-book and kindle. The title is -- "Confessions of a Wee Poison P.G.A. Golf Pro" --this isn't a joke--really I did ! The front cover has a picture of me that looks like me when I was teaching you guys. Hope all of you have a Merry Christmas

John Groshell (Teacher)

Good morning to all of you who I set back educationally for at least 10 years. Those reading this must have survived my teachings. If any of you are interested I actually wrote my autobiography. Of course my two years at Tolt are in it -- they actually got a lot of the ink and I had NOTHING bad to say about those years--only wish there could have been more of them-- the Satterlee firing did me in. My book is available on the Amazon and Barnes and Noble web sites and is also available in e-book and kindle. The title is "Confessions of a Wee Poison P.G.A. Golf Pro" --  just go to either site and type in John Groshell and the book should appear. On the cover is a picture of me from my Tolt years.

If you saw this somewhere else it is because I already tried to message-- and being totally inept with computers I don't know if that worked or not. I wish you all a wonderful Christmas season and wish you all well!!

I will always cherish my years at Tolt!!

John (Cupcake)

Can't "hardly" wait. I hope you see the humor in that sentence. Mrs. Balenti would be upset with that phrase. Truly exciting John. I look forward to reading it. You were always one of my favorite teachers. Cheers!

I just got back from walking my four legged daughter (Dani) - and see that my first message went to Chris - thanks Chris for passing it on (along with book cover) --  so you all got to experience my ignorance with computers. It is said that the first step in recovery is to recognize and admit your problem -- in my case I did that years ago but still wander down the path of ignorance and ineptitude - oh well -- Cupcake

Hi to all.   I'm just starting off the conversation here. Is there any interest in a reunion this summer/fall?

Chris Dalla Pozza (Bangsund)

Hi Again.  I just went through all of your photos on your profiles.  That was so fun!  Loved seeing things you've shared, kids/grandkids/places.   Please update them with new events etc.  it was time for me to do them as well.  Getting back into horses (big surprise there) here in Wyoming.  Been talking to Joleen who's really into it.  It's been fun. What are the rest of you up to?

Have always enjoyed our get togethers, big and small. My summer calendar is already getting full. Spending a lot of time with elderly parents and cyclng. Bought an e-bike last summer so I can keep up with Bob. I'd be in favor of a get together but maybe something more casual and wait until our 55 or 2026 for the next big reunion. Maybe consider putting something on the calendar for a get together every year or two, like lunch or dinner at a restaurant, knowing that not everyone will make it but just a chance to visit and reconnect. Was just talking with a friend last night who gets together with highschool friends in Tennessee every year.

For this year I have already made plan.  I need to see my Mom as much as possible she is in an assisted living place and she will be 98 in May.  I will also be doing a cousin get together in Eastern Washington.  I have yet to retire and I need to arrange my vacation schedule with my other co-workers.  When I told my fellow co-worker's about a class reunion, they were like what you guys do that.  I think doing a reunion down the road is a good idea. Hope everyone has a good rest of the year.

My horse show season pretty jam packed until Nov 1st but if a casual dinner or lunch set up, I would try to come. I hope everyone is well.

When we get an email that an announcement made on our website, I never seem to locate that information. Anyone else experience that? Or is it the website just making periodic updates? Curious. But hay ... it's Fall 2024 and life IS good. Wishing everyone good health and happiness. Joleen

Hey Joleen and all.   It probably is just because I updated the Home Page with either the correct season or song of the week.   Both are under "announcements" internally because I couldn't figure out how to do it another way ðŸĪŠ.    The website updates only go to the administrators...Pat, Les and myself.

Thinking about Don Manning today. I remember at our 40th he talked about all the medical issues he had because of Agent Orange in Vietnam.  I remember Don as a geat guy...kinda quiet but caring. I'm so sad he passed prematurely and I miss him.   So many of our classmates I miss....Valerie: so quiet and so sweet; Sandy: so funny, I got to know her more after high school and enjoyed her so much; Jeff: such a talented sweet guy..... what would my life be like now if he had lived. Feeling a little nostalgic tonight.

Hope the rest of you are well. Incredible to think we are in our 70's now.

Thinking fondly about Mike Sunitsch today.  Doing some canning and listening to a 60's, 70's & 80's radio station. Merrilee Rush came on with her version of "Angel of the Morning" that came out in February of 1968.....our Freshman year.    Not sure how many of you knew that Merrilee was Mike's cousin.  He had a great voice as well.

Hi to all my beloved Demon students---   remembering Mike is EASY --  he was one of my favorites (even though I kicked him off the baseball team and the JV basketball team) --  he really made the speech classes fun and lively--  he kinda reminded me of me at that age--of course I was only about 7 years older than you guys--  as far as the baseball team Mr Satterlee made me do that --something about crashing a honors society gathering--  the JV basketball he earned all by himself   ------  Being just over one month from turning 80 I almost have an excuse for temporarily forgetting that Mike left us many years ago

Chris Dalla Pozza (Bangsund)

WHAT!!!   I wasn't your favorite student John!    Kidding,   I guess I didn't know that Mike's nickname was EASY. I do know that he made Connie and my life miserable in our debate over Capitalism vs Communism.    I can't believe I was debating in favor of communism.   Uff Dah have I changed !!!

80?   Mama Mia John,    It's the new 60 though 😜.  Btw, our club championship is coming up next month and I could sure use some golf lessons!    We're just a hop, skip and a jump from you here in Wyoming 😆

Re read my post--  I said Mike was one of my favorites --favorite what? He hardly qualified as a student. Character would be much closer. So Chris, you would still fit as a  favorite student. I could start listing my favorites but the list would be way too long--  in my 2 years I NEVER had a student that I didn't like-- You all had your own special qualities. The 3 Stooges (Marianne, Mary, and Deb) - Stormin Norman (Sue)- The Garbage Man (Roy Richards) - Yogi (Steve Rush)- Wheels (Ted Morris)-  all my JV basketball players- all my Varsity baseball players including Mike Guisti who was way smarter than me but was nice enough not to tell everyone- the Terry Twins who I called Dago's and they called me a Kraut - heck, even Chuck Hinzman (the 1st student (really a student?) that I took out in the hall and explained in many 4 letter words that he needed my class WAY MORE than I needed him!! ) I will admit that Mike Grady did manage to piss me off during play practice just a day before the 1st performance,- he fortunately understood me when I told him that I would boot him out and simply stand on the stage and read his lines rather than take anymore crap from him--but we both got over that--Sorry for my rant--  but I really did like you all a bunch!!

I was just teasing you John, and with all the great students you had at Tolt, I do not expect to be any kind of favorite....and you did say "one of my".   😉.  Can you tell I should have paid more attention in Mrs. Satterlee's English/grammar class.
Holy cow, you sure can remember names and nicknames!   It was 4 fun years for me.   But then my whole life has been pretty dang fun.  My husband Dick was quite adventurous so we did a lot of crazy things I would never have attempted on my own    He's settled down now, a few years older than you with a horribly bad back but 'in the day' it was quite a ride.   Hope you have a fabulous celebration for your 80th.

John Groshell (Teacher)

Good morning Chris--  I knew you were kidding, you just gave me the opportunity to babble a bit.-  I like to think that I didn't show favoritism, in fact I got a kick out of the students that other teachers thought were a pain- maybe that is because my middle name is "Paine" (really, no sh&t)  I liked good students too--  I was thinking that "The 3 Stooges" (Deb, Marianne, and Mary ) were the first set of conjoined triplets to graduate from high school. So, I just googled conjoined triplets and while "our" 3 stooges weren't mentioned a number of others were. See, I can learn something too!! I'm not just another pretty face.

You are too funny John!  (still feels a little weird to not call you Mr. Groshell) :-)    Keep looking over my shoulder for Mr. Saterlee to give me swats for disrespect :-)

Have you written another book yet?   I did so enjoy your last one.

Hey Everyone,

John Groshell just donated another $100 to our website. My hope is some of you will do a reunion next year....our 55th year!  I'm in Wyoming now and can't participate in the planning other than emails through the website.  We'll all be pushing 80 by the time our 60 comes around.   We have the funds, let's use them!
